Can I use Starlink and an Ethernet connection at the same time on my Mac? You can, with Speedify

This article explains how to use Speedify on your Mac to combine your Starlink Wi-Fi connection with a wired Ethernet connection - giving you faster speeds, better reliability, and a more secure internet experience.

Requirements

  • A Mac running macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
  • An active Starlink dish and Wi-Fi network
  • An Ethernet cable and a router or modem to connect it to
  • A built-in Ethernet port, or a USB-C/Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter if your Mac doesn't have one
  • Speedify installed on your Mac

Let's Get Started

Step 1

Connect your Mac to your Starlink Wi-Fi network.

Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar at the top right of your screen. If Wi-Fi is off, choose Turn Wi-Fi On. Select the network name associated with your Starlink connection from the list, enter your password, and click Join.

You should see the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar fill in to indicate a successful connection.

Step 2

Connect your Mac to Ethernet.

Plug one end of an Ethernet cable into your router or modem, and the other end into the Ethernet port on your Mac. If your Mac doesn't have a built-in Ethernet port, use a USB-C to Ethernet adapter or a Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet adapter.

In most cases, macOS will connect automatically. To confirm, go to System Settings > Network and look for your Ethernet connection in the list - it should show as Connected.

Step 3

Download and install Speedify.

If you haven't already, download Speedify and install it on your Mac. Open Speedify once the installation is complete.

Speedify will automatically detect both your Starlink Wi-Fi connection and your Ethernet connection, and begin combining them right away — no manual configuration needed. You'll see both connections listed as active in the Speedify dashboard.
