Can I combine Starlink Internet and my iPhone connection on my Windows PC? Yes, Speedify can help!
This article explains how to use Speedify on your Windows PC to combine your Starlink internet with your iPhone's cellular connection, so you get faster speeds and stay online even if one connection drops.
What You'll Need
- A Starlink dish that is set up and working, plus your Starlink Wi-Fi name and password
- A Windows PC with Wi-Fi
- An iPhone or iPad with a data plan and Personal Hotspot available
- A USB cable for your iPhone
- The latest version of iTunes installed on your PC (it contains the drivers needed for USB tethering)
Step 1: Connect to Your Starlink Wi-Fi Hotspot
First, make sure your Starlink is set up according to the instructions that came in the package. This includes creating your Starlink Wi-Fi network and setting a password.
Click the Wi-Fi symbol in the lower right corner of the taskbar. If Wi-Fi is off, turn it on using the tile in the pop-up menu. Then select the Wi-Fi network that belongs to your Starlink and enter the password to connect.
Step 2: Enable Personal Hotspot on Your iPhone
A Personal Hotspot lets your iPhone or iPad share its cellular data with other devices over Wi-Fi, USB, or Bluetooth.
Go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Personal Hotspot and flip the switch on.
On this screen you can check the name of the phone (used as the Wi-Fi name) and set the password.
NOTE: If you don't see the Personal Hotspot option, contact your carrier to make sure your plan includes it.
Step 3: Connect Your iPhone to Your PC via USB
First, install or update to the latest version of iTunes. It contains the drivers needed for USB tethering.
Connect your iPhone or iPad to your PC with a USB cable. If your phone shows a "Trust This Computer?" alert, tap Trust.
Make sure you can see your iPhone or iPad in iTunes. If your PC doesn't recognize the device, try a different USB cable.
Your iPhone should start sharing its connection with your PC on its own. Click the network icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar, and the iPhone should be listed at the top of the network list.
Step 4: Download and Install Speedify
Download and install Speedify. Once it's running, Speedify finds your Starlink connection and your tethered iPhone connection on its own and combines them. You don't need to set anything up. If one connection slows down or drops, Speedify keeps you online with the other.
Prefer a wireless option with no cable? Speedify's Pair & Share feature lets your PC borrow the cellular connection of a nearby phone that also runs Speedify.
