Let's Get Started

Step 1

Make sure your Starlink dish is set up according to the instructions included in the package, including your Starlink Wi-Fi network name and password.

On your Windows PC, click the Wi-Fi icon in the lower-right corner of the taskbar (system tray). If you're not already connected, turn on Wi-Fi and select your Starlink Wi-Fi network from the list, then enter your password to connect.

Step 2

Connect your Android phone to your PC using a USB cable. A notification will appear at the top of your phone's screen.

To enable USB tethering (Universal Serial Bus tethering), do one of the following:

  • Swipe down from the top of the screen, then touch and hold Hotspot, and turn on USB tethering.
  • Or go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Hotspot and Tethering and enable USB tethering.
Important: If your Android phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, USB tethering will share that Wi-Fi connection, not your 4G/5G cellular connection. To share your cellular data, turn off Wi-Fi on your phone and make sure mobile data is enabled.

To verify the tethered connection is active, click the network icon in the lower-right corner of the taskbar. Tethered Android phones are recognized as wired (Ethernet) connections. You should see a wired connection listed as "Network #" - that's your tethered Android phone.

Step 3
