Speedify Internet Kill Switch Overview
This article explains what the Speedify Internet Kill Switch is, which platforms support it, how to enable it, and what to do if you run into a "No Internet access" error when it's active.
What Is the Speedify Internet Kill Switch?
The Internet Kill Switch is a feature in Speedify that blocks all internet traffic on your device if Speedify gets disconnected. This prevents your data from going out unencrypted in the event of a dropped VPN connection, which is especially important if you rely on Speedify for privacy and security on untrusted networks.
By default, the Internet Kill Switch is disabled. You need to turn it on manually.
The Internet Kill Switch is available on Windows, iOS and Android.
How to Enable the Kill Switch
Step 1
Open the Speedify app and tap or click the ☰ Settings menu in the top left corner of the screen.
Step 2
In the Settings menu, find the Privacy section and look for the Internet Kill Switch option, toggle it ON.
Once enabled, Speedify will block all internet traffic on your device any time the VPN connection drops, keeping your data protected.

Troubleshooting: "No Internet Access" Error
If you see a "No Internet access" error and can't reach any websites or services, the Kill Switch may be the cause. This happens when Speedify is disconnected while the Kill Switch is active, which is exactly what it's designed to do.
To restore internet access, do one of the following:
- Reconnect Speedify. Open the Speedify app and tap or click Connect. Once Speedify reconnects, your internet access will be restored automatically.
- Disable the Kill Switch. If you don't need the Kill Switch active right now, go to Settings > Privacy and toggle the Internet Kill Switch to OFF. Your internet access will return immediately.
