Speedify Speed Bonding Mode Overview
This article explains what Speed Mode is, how Speedify uses it to combine your internet connections, and when you should use it.
What Is Speed Mode?
Speed Mode is Speedify's default bonding mode. It combines multiple internet connections, such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 4G/5G cellular connections, into one faster, more reliable connection by distributing your internet traffic across all of them at the same time.
For example, if your Wi-Fi connection delivers 50 Mbps and your 4G/5G cellular connection offers 30 Mbps, Speed Mode can use both simultaneously for a combined speed potential of up to 80 Mbps.
How Speedify Combines Connections in Speed Mode
Speedify uses Channel Bonding Technology to intelligently split and reassemble your internet traffic across multiple networks. Speedify continuously monitors each connection for latency, packet loss, and throughput, then makes real-time decisions about where to send data packets for the best performance.
In Speed Mode, Speedify:
- Spreads internet traffic across all active connections for maximum throughput.
- Automatically fails over to your remaining connections so ongoing sessions are not interrupted if one connection drops.
- Encrypts your data to keep it secure during transmission.
Speed Mode is a good fit when you want the fastest possible upload and download speeds — for example, when downloading large files, uploading videos, or gaming.
Enhanced Streaming
When using Speed Mode, you can also enable Enhanced Streaming. This optional feature adds intelligence to how Speedify prioritizes your internet traffic. It detects and prioritizes streaming-related data, such as video calls, live streams, and Voice over IP (VoIP) audio, to keep those sessions smooth even if your connection becomes unstable.
When Enhanced Streaming Mode is turned on:
- Real-time streams stay stable even as network conditions change.
- Non-critical internet traffic is deprioritized to protect streaming quality.
Enhanced Streaming can only be toggled while you are already in Speed Mode. For more details, see Enhanced Streaming Overview.
When to Use Speed Mode
Speed Mode is Speedify's default, and it works well for most situations. Use it when you want to:
- Maximize the total available bandwidth from your internet connections.
- Get faster upload and download speeds for large file transfers or video uploads.
- Balance speed and reliability across multiple internet connections.
