This article explains how to use Speedify on Ubuntu Linux to combine your Ethernet connection and a 4G/5G USB cellular dongle into a single, faster and more reliable internet connection.

What You'll Need

• A computer running Ubuntu Linux
• An Ethernet cable and access to a router or modem
• A 4G/5G USB cellular dongle compatible with Ubuntu
• Speedify installed on your computer

Let's Get Started

Step 1

Connect an Ethernet cable between your router or modem and the Ethernet port on your Ubuntu computer. If your computer doesn't have a built-in Ethernet port, a USB-to-Ethernet adapter will work as well.

Once connected, Ubuntu will recognize your Ethernet connection automatically. You can confirm it's active by opening the System Menu - you should see it listed as "Wired Connection."

Step 2

Plug your 4G/5G USB cellular dongle into an available USB port on your Ubuntu computer.

Once connected, the dongle will most likely appear in the System Menu as a "Wired Connection." If your dongle requires proprietary dialer software to establish a connection, follow the manufacturer's setup instructions before continuing.

Step 3

If you haven't already, download and install Speedify on your Ubuntu computer. Once Speedify is running, it will automatically detect all available internet connections, including your Ethernet connection and your 4G/5G cellular dongle, and start combining their internet traffic for faster upload and download speeds and a more stable connection.

You can manage individual connection settings, view live statistics, and apply data limits by clicking on any connection from the Speedify Dashboard, or by going to Settings and selecting the connection you want to adjust.
