Can I combine two Ethernet connections on Ubuntu Linux? Yes, Speedify can help!
This article explains how to use Speedify on Ubuntu Linux to combine two Ethernet connections for faster upload and download speeds and a more reliable internet connection.
What You'll Need
- An Ubuntu Linux computer
- Two active internet connections (from two separate modems or routers)
- A USB to Ethernet adapter (if your computer only has one built-in Ethernet port)
- Speedify installed on your computer
Let's Get Started
Step 1
Connect an Ethernet cable between your first router or modem and the built-in Ethernet port on your Ubuntu Linux computer. Ubuntu will start using the connection automatically, and you should see it listed in the System Menu as "Wired Connection."

Step 2
Connect your USB to Ethernet adapter to an available USB port on your Ubuntu Linux computer, then connect a second Ethernet cable between the adapter and your second modem or router.
Ubuntu will detect the adapter automatically, and you should see the second connection appear in the System Menu as "USB Ethernet" or "Wired Connection 2."
Step 3
Download and install Speedify on your Ubuntu Linux computer. Once Speedify is running, it will automatically detect both Ethernet connections and begin combining them. You'll see both connections listed in the Speedify dashboard.
You can manage settings, view statistics, and adjust limits for each individual connection by clicking on it from the dashboard or by going to the main Settings menu.
