Sharing the Speedify Connection via Wi-Fi on macOS
This article explains how to share your Speedify connection over Wi-Fi from your Mac so that other devices on your network can benefit from Speedify's channel bonding. You can do this using macOS's built-in Internet Sharing feature.
Requirements
- Speedify installed and running on your Mac
- macOS Big Sur or later (see note below for version-specific differences)
- If your Mac is connected to the internet via Wi-Fi and you want to share over Wi-Fi as well, you'll need a separate Wi-Fi to USB adapter. Note that Apple removed support for external Wi-Fi adapters in macOS Monterey and above, so this option is only available on macOS Big Sur.
Let's Get Started
The steps differ slightly depending on which version of macOS you're running. Follow the section that matches your Mac below.
macOS Ventura and Above
Step 1
Open Speedify and connect. Wait until Speedify shows an active connection before continuing.
Step 2
Go to System Settings > General > Sharing.

Step 3
Click the information (i) icon next to Internet Sharing to open its settings.

Step 4
In the Share your connection from drop-down menu, select Speedify. Then check the box next to your Wi-Fi adapter in the list below.

Step 5
Toggle Internet Sharing on. When prompted, click Start to confirm. Your other devices can now connect to the Wi-Fi network your Mac is sharing.

macOS Monterey and Below
Step 1
Open Speedify and connect. Wait until Speedify shows an active connection before continuing.

Step 2
Go to System Preferences > Sharing.

Step 3
In the Share your connection from drop-down menu, select Speedify.

Step 4
In the To computers using list, check the box next to Wi-Fi. This tells macOS to broadcast the shared connection over Wi-Fi.

Step 5
Click Wi-Fi Options to configure the network your other devices will connect to.

Step 6
Set a network name and password for the shared Wi-Fi network, then click OK.

Step 7
Select Internet Sharing from the list on the left side of the Sharing window.

Step 8
Click the checkbox next to Internet Sharing to turn it on. When prompted, click Start to confirm. Your Mac will now broadcast the Speedify connection as a Wi-Fi network.
