Can I combine Starlink Internet with Wi-Fi on my Windows PC? You can, with Speedify
This article explains how to combine your Starlink internet connection with a second Wi-Fi connection on your Windows PC using Speedify, so you get faster upload and download speeds and a more reliable connection overall.
What You'll Need
- A working Starlink dish and Wi-Fi network (set up according to the instructions included in your Starlink package)
- A USB Wi-Fi adapter (required to connect your PC to a second Wi-Fi network simultaneously)
- A second Wi-Fi network to combine with Starlink
- Speedify installed on your Windows PC
Let's Get Started
Step 1: Connect to Your Starlink Wi-Fi Network
Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on your PC, then connect to your Starlink Wi-Fi network:
- Click the Wi-Fi symbol in the lower-right corner of the taskbar (system tray).
- Select your Starlink Wi-Fi network from the list and enter your password to connect.
Once connected, your PC is using Starlink as its active internet connection.
Step 2: Connect Your USB Wi-Fi Adapter
To combine two Wi-Fi connections, your PC needs two separate Wi-Fi radios. Your built-in Wi-Fi card is already in use for Starlink, so you'll need a USB Wi-Fi adapter for the second connection.
- Plug the USB Wi-Fi adapter into an available USB port on your PC.
- Windows will automatically detect the adapter and install drivers for it.
- Once the adapter is ready, click the Wi-Fi symbol in the system tray again. If your PC has multiple Wi-Fi adapters, you'll see a drop-down menu at the top of the dialog. Select your new USB Wi-Fi adapter from that menu.
- Choose your second Wi-Fi network from the list and connect to it.
Your PC is now connected to two separate internet connections at the same time: Starlink through your built-in Wi-Fi card, and your second network through the USB adapter.
Step 3: Download and Install Speedify
Download and install Speedify on your Windows PC if you haven't already. Once Speedify is running, it will automatically detect both of your active internet connections and begin combining them.
You can manage each connection individually by clicking on it from the Speedify dashboard, or by going to Settings.
Speedify runs quietly in the background, optimizing your internet traffic in real time, including keeping video streams smooth and reducing buffering or disconnects.
Did you know - if you need to keep several devices connected in areas with limited or spotty network coverage (like event venues, remote locations, or while traveling), Speedify's Pair and Share feature lets you share a 4G/5G cellular connection between multiple devices wirelessly. This helps distribute your cellular internet traffic across devices, keeping everyone online even when Wi-Fi is slow or unavailable.
