How can I combine Ethernet and 4G / 5G dongle on a PC?
This article explains how to use Speedify on your Windows PC to combine a wired Ethernet connection with a 4G/5G cellular dongle for faster upload and download speeds and a more reliable internet connection.
What You'll Need
- A Windows PC with a built-in Ethernet port (or a USB to Ethernet adapter)
- A 4G/5G cellular USB dongle with an active data plan
- An Ethernet cable
- Speedify installed on your PC
Let's Get Started
Step 1: Connect Your PC to Ethernet
Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to your router or modem and the other end to the Ethernet port on your PC. In most cases, Windows will detect the connection automatically and connect to the internet right away.
If your PC doesn't have a built-in Ethernet port, you can use a USB to Ethernet adapter instead. Plug the adapter into a USB port on your PC, then connect the Ethernet cable to the adapter.
To confirm the connection is active, click the network icon in the taskbar (bottom-right corner of your screen). You should see your Ethernet connection listed as "Connected."
Step 2: Connect Your 4G / 5G Cellular Dongle
Plug your 4G/5G cellular USB dongle into an available USB port on your PC.
To confirm the dongle is connected, click the network icon in the taskbar. You should see a second connection listed alongside your Ethernet connection.
Step 3: Download and Install Speedify
Download and install Speedify on your PC if you haven't already. Once Speedify is running, it will automatically detect both your Ethernet connection and your 4G/5G cellular dongle and begin combining them.
Did you know - Speedify's Pair & Share feature lets you share your device's 4G/5G cellular connection across multiple devices wirelessly, which is especially useful at event venues, remote locations, or anywhere Wi-Fi is slow or unreliable.
