Disabling Automatic Connection in Speedify
This article explains how to control whether Speedify automatically connects when your Android phone starts up, and what happens when you close the app from the Recents screen.
Let's Get Started
Step 1
From the main Speedify dashboard, tap the Settings icon to open the settings menu.
Step 2
Scroll down and tap the Session section. Here you'll find two settings that control how Speedify connects automatically:
- Connect at Startup: When this is on, Speedify starts itself and connects automatically every time your phone restarts. Turn this off if you prefer to connect and disconnect manually.
- Task Swipe: When this is off, Speedify keeps running in the background even if you swipe it away from the Android Recents (recent apps) screen. Leave this off if you want Speedify to stay active after closing the app view.

What About iOS?
On iOS, Speedify remembers its previous state. If Speedify was connected before you restarted your phone, it will reconnect after the restart. If it was disconnected, it will stay disconnected. There's no separate Auto-Connect toggle needed on iOS.
Did you know - you can bond even more internet connections on your iPhone using Speedify's Pair & Share cellular sharing feature? It lets you add a friend's cellular connection to your own for even faster upload and download speeds.
