How do I stop Speedify from updating?
In order to enjoy the fastest and most secure experience with Speedify, you should always keep the application up to date. On Windows, Speedify will automatically update. If you wish to prevent auto-updates on Speedify on Windows, you can create a registry key to disable the auto update of Speedify.
- In the search box on the taskbar, type regedit. Then select the top result for Registry Editor. Another way to open the registry is to press and hold or right click the Start button, then select Run. Enter regedit in the Open: box and select OK.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Speedify using the pane on the left
- Right click in the right pane and create a new D-Word. Set it to 0 to disable auto-updates.
- You're done!
For Mac users, we'll notify you of important software updates when you launch the software.
On Linux, Speedify is installed through apt, the system package manager, so it automatically lets you know about the update, but doesn't install until you choose to.
