Speedify Data Limits Overview
This article explains how to set daily and monthly data limits on your internet connections in Speedify. This is especially useful when you are using Cellular or Satellite connections and want to avoid overage fees from your carrier.
Let's Get Started
To access the data limit settings for a connection, tap or click the connection you want to manage. From there, you can configure daily limits, monthly limits, overlimit behavior, and rate limits for that specific connection.
Daily Data Cap
Setting a daily data limit helps spread your usage evenly across the month and prevents a single heavy day from burning through your monthly allowance.
Step 1
Open the connection settings for the connection you want to limit, then set a daily data cap. A good starting point is roughly 10% of your monthly limit. For example, if your monthly cap is 2 GB, set the daily limit to 200 MB. This leaves room for days when you need more data than usual.

Monthly Data Cap
A monthly data cap tells Speedify to stop routing internet traffic through a connection once it hits the threshold you set.
Set your monthly data limit to a value that's lower than your actual carrier cap. Because Speedify only counts data used while connected to the Speedify VPN, you'll want a buffer to account for any usage that happens outside of Speedify. When you reach 75% of the limit you've set, Speedify will warn you. When you hit the full limit, Speedify will stay connected but stop using that specific connection. You'll be prompted to either allow Speedify to keep using the connection or to stop routing internet traffic through it.

Overlimit Behavior
The Overlimit Behavior setting determines what Speedify does when a connection exceeds your daily or monthly data cap. You can choose to have Speedify stop using that connection entirely, or switch to a reduced speed.

Rate Limit
When Rate Limit is enabled, Speedify restricts the maximum upload and download speed for a specific internet connection to a value you choose. If you have a limited data plan with your internet provider, this is a useful way to stay connected without risking overages. Speedify will cap the connection speed once the data limit is reached.

Set Your Priority
Speedify lets you control how much your 4G/5G cellular connection is used relative to your other internet connections. By default, Speedify sets cellular connections to Secondary, meaning Speedify won't route internet traffic through them when a good Wi-Fi network or Ethernet connection is available. You can also set a cellular connection to Backup, so Speedify only uses it when your Wi-Fi network or Ethernet connection is not working at all.
